Keely Ellen is not your average teenager. Hailing from Bundaberg, Queensland, this 17-year old singer-songwriter has been making waves in the music scene since she was just 8 years old, when she first discovered her passion for singing. At the age of 10, Keely picked up her first guitar, and the rest, as they say is history.
With a knack for mixing pop feels with country narratives, Keely is gaining recognition both within her local community and beyond, boosted by the release of her debut single, Redhead, in February 2024.
In 2023, Keely Ellen’s talent was recognised when she clinched the top spot at the prestigious Country on Kepple Peter Blundell Memorial Talent Search, chalking up another win in a series of accolades for the young artist. She has previously taaken first place at the Ekka 2022 competition and earning a coveted Troy Cassar-Daley Scholarship to attend the esteemed Academy of Country Music in Tamworth.
But Keely’s journey to success didn’t start there. In 2021, she wowed judges and audiences alike a the Gladstone Busking Championships, showcasing her raw talent and magnetic stage presence. The previous year, Keely won the top award at Broxburn 2020 and emerged as a semi-finalist in the Gympie Music Muster Talent Search. Additionally, she secured a second place in the Mount Franklin Tamworth competition, further solidifying her status as a rising star in the Australian music scene.
The Bundaberg teenager has also recently graced the stage at the iconic Gympie Music Muster, sharing billing with renowned artists such as The Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins, Bill Chambers. Alongside her performances, Keely has had the privilege of being mentored by multi-award winning singer-songwriter Lyn Bowtell, whose guidance has undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping Keely’s artistic journey.
